Pastoral Pursuits, by Bahamian Bounty, won the Group 1 July Cup at Newmarket and his first two year olds will run in 2009. He was the sire of the top lot at the Doncaster Breeze-up sales last week, bought by Richard Hannon for 190,000gns.

Fantastic news to lift the moral of Kinsale Stud as Wood Fern has his tendon scanned to see if it has healed after a career stopping injury...... and it has!!

All the hard work and dedication of all at Kinsale Stud has paid off as thanks to the use of our new “ZAMAR” machine Wood Fern has made a full recovery and will return to training with Donald McCain in June 2009.

We would like to thank Wood Ferns owners The General Mens Racing club for their continued support of Kinsale Stud and wish them the best of luck with him in 2009.

To top off an already fantastic day PUNJABI trained by Nicky Henderson and owned by Mr Ray Tooth wins the £210,000 Smurfit Kappa Champion Hurdle at Cheltenham at 22-1 beating Celestial Halo, and punters favorite Binocular. Next stop Punchestown!
